Why I began Precious Petals
by Catherine Brant
When I found a single rose from my grandmother’s bouquet pressed inside an old family book, I loved it so much that I began pressing flowers from special occasions. Seeing my enthusiasm, my father made me a wooden flower press, and I was hooked.
Over time, I learnt which methods worked best for each type of flower and, later, how to preserve flowers three‑dimensionally. In 1988 I launched Precious Petals.
From the early days of working at the kitchen table in our little cottage in Bramley, the business quickly grew. Florists, brides, and grooms throughout the country began to hear about the exceptional results we were achieving.
In 1999 and again in 2018, I was honoured to be asked to preserve flowers from Royal weddings. Over the years we have also been asked to preserve flowers from celebrity weddings and sporting events, including Olympic flowers.
Our reputation is second to none, and we are proud to have become a centre where other flower preservers have learnt their craft.
Precious Petals has long outgrown our cottage beginnings, and we now have a modern studio in the village, where customers are welcomed to view our work and decide how they would like their flowers preserved.
We offer a nationwide service and have received flowers from all over the world. Our talented team of flower preservers, artists, and craftspeople work hard to create beautiful mementoes to be treasured for years to come bringing fresh perspectives and contemporary ideas to a long-established business
At Precious Petals we never forget that every display we make holds special memories for our customers. Please see our gallery for ideas on how your flowers can be displayed. You can view our price guide on the pricing page, and you are welcome to book online or contact us to discuss your flowers.
